Clearing a corner to work

Enough room for the task in front of you.

A clear desk does not need to be an empty desk. Start by making room for the notebook, tool, or document that matters today. Move unrelated objects into a tray instead of sorting them in the middle of another task.

Keep frequently used items near the hand that reaches for them. Move the lamp until it lights the page without reflecting into your eyes. Small adjustments are easier to maintain than a complete rearrangement.

At the end, leave a short note about the next step. A clear starting point makes returning easier, even when the rest of the room remains lived in.
